About our exam simulator
CySEC Exam Prep is designed for finance professionals in Cyprus who need to pass the CySEC Advanced examination to become certified. This includes individuals working at — or looking to work at — Cypriot investment firms (CIFs), banks, management companies, and other regulated financial services entities. Whether you are sitting the exam for the first time or retaking it, our simulator is built to fit around a full-time working schedule.
Our question bank currently consists of over 900 questions, covering all 14 chapters of the CySEC Advanced examination syllabus. New questions are regularly added to keep the bank fresh and comprehensive.
We recommend a three-step approach for best results:
- 1.Study the syllabus — familiarise yourself with all 14 chapters of the CySEC Advanced examination syllabus.
- 2.Read the revision notes — work through our chapter-by-chapter revision notes to consolidate the key concepts.
- 3.Take practice exams — use our simulator to test your knowledge under timed, exam-like conditions and identify any gaps.

The CySEC Advanced Exam
The CySEC Advanced examination consists of 70 multiple-choice questions. Each question has four answer options, and only one is correct.
The pass mark is 70%, meaning you need to answer at least 49 out of 70 questions correctly. There is no penalty for incorrect answers, so it is always worth selecting an answer even if you are unsure.
The CySEC Advanced examination has a time limit of 2 hours (120 minutes). This gives you an average of just under 2 minutes per question, so practising under timed conditions is important — our simulator mirrors this exactly.
CySEC does not publicly publish an official pass rate. However, the Advanced examination is widely considered challenging due to the breadth of its syllabus and the level of detail required. Candidates who combine thorough study of the syllabus with regular practice exams typically have the best outcomes.
The CySEC Advanced examination is available in both Greek and English. It is delivered as a computer-based test at authorised examination centres in Cyprus.
Registration is handled directly through the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). You can find exam dates, fees, and the registration process on the official CySEC website: www.cysec.gov.cy.
Yes, there is no limit on the number of attempts. If you do not pass, you can register for the next available exam sitting. We recommend using the time between attempts to work through your weak chapters using our targeted mock exams.
